Supporting you through reform - A post-election update
08 May 2015
New A and decoupled AS Levels in nine subject areas, alongside new (9-1) GCSEs in English and maths, will be taught in schools from September 2015.
The introduction of new qualifications brings challenges and supporting those who teach and learn OCR qualifications is our priority.
Our subject specialists are available to discuss reform in their subject areas. You can find your specialist's details from your qualification page via the reform timeline.
Subject-specific training for the new Maths and English GCSEs, as well as for a number of the new A Levels (for example in the sciences, art and design, and sociology), for first teaching in September 2015, is available via the CPD Hub. For those preparing to teach new qualifications for first teaching in 2016, we are also running free training events in June and July across the country.
As part of the reform of vocational qualifications, OCR’s new Level 3 Cambridge Technicals in Engineering will be introduced for first teaching in September 2015. First teaching of new Cambridge Technicals in other subjects (such as science, business, health & social care, IT and sport) begins in September 2016. We will be announcing training events to support the teaching of the reformed Cambridge Technicals shortly.
