Outstanding students head to Cambridge University with OCR bursaries
27 September 2022
Fifteen exceptional students have been awarded OCR bursaries to support them with their studies at the University of Cambridge. These star students took their A Levels at schools and colleges across the West Midlands.
OCR Chief Executive, Jill Duffy, sent a special message to each of the students today. She said: “We are once again thrilled by the rich pool of highly talented and hardworking students across the West Midlands. It’s hugely rewarding for us at OCR to play a small part in helping these impressive young people with our bursaries. They are worthy winners not only because of their academic achievement and potential but because of their resilience and positive impact on others.”
Arising from our historical association with the West Midlands Examinations Board, the OCR bursary scheme supports students from the West Midlands going to the University of Cambridge. Now in its 19th year, recipients of the OCR bursaries receive £3,000 for each year of their undergraduate studies which they can use for living or tuition costs, or a combination of both.
After a difficult few years for young people who’ve had their education disrupted, and who face financially challenging times, we’re delighted to have been able to offer a high number of awards this year.
Congratulations to all our amazing 2022 bursary winners, who include:
Baylee Neal from Thomas Adams School and Sixth Form
