New training dates for Cambridge Technicals
06 May 2016
OCR is rolling out extra dates for schools and colleges preparing to teach Cambridge Technicals from September 2016.
Following confirmation in April that OCR's Level 3 vocational range will count on the DfE's 2018 16-19 performance tables, OCR has added more face to face training events to meet demand. Extra events are now available in May, June and July in Leeds, Birmingham and London, via OCR's CPD Hub.
Level 3 Cambridge Technicals in the following subjects appear on the DfE's list in the Applied General category. (According to the DfE, 'Applied General' are 'rigorous, advanced qualifications that allow 16 to 19 year old students to develop transferable knowledge and skills. They are for students that want to continue their education through applied learning.')
Digital Media, Performing Arts, Business, Health and Social Care, Engineering, IT, Sport and Physical Activity and Laboratory Skills.
Level 3 Cambridge Technicals in the following subjects appear on the DfE's list in the Tech Level category. (These are 'rigorous, advanced technical qualifications on a par with A Levels and recognised by employers. They are for students aged 16 plus that want to specialise in a specific industry or prepare for a particular job.')
Digital Media, Engineering, IT, and Sport and Physical Activity.
OCR's Level 3 Cambridge Technicals have been designed in four, flexible sizes up to 720 GLH. In response to feedback, we are currently developing a 1080 GLH qualification.
