Cambridge Nationals and Cambridge Technicals in the spotlight

Over 400 delegates attended OCR’s Vocational Conferences held in London, Coventry and Leeds this summer to find out more about OCR’s suite of Cambridge Nationals and Cambridge Technicals. Cambridge Nationals and Cambridge Technicals are full-time vocational courses designed to meet the needs of 14 to 16 and 16 to 19 year-old students.

The Conferences in June and July were a huge success, with OCR’s subject, development, resources and support teams on hand to provide teachers with all the information needed to plan and teach OCR’s vocational qualifications with confidence.

Here’s a snapshot of what delegates told us:

The informal format allowed delegates to explore their individual subject areas in detail, including the support available in the form of textbooks from publishers, Hodder Education. Delegates were also able to meet other teachers and share best practice. A Cambridge National teacher shared her experience of delivering the Child Development qualification with other delegates which led to the formation of a WhatsApp professional network.

Level 1/2 Cambridge Nationals and Level 2/3 Cambridge Technicals provide high quality and easy to administer vocational qualifications for KS4 (14-16) and KS5 (16-19) students in the following subject areas: Art and Design, Business, Child Development, Digital/Creative Media, Engineering, Health and Social Care, IT, Laboratory Skills/Science, Performing Arts and Sport. The qualifications aim to provide the flexibility to meet the different needs of students and teachers, for example a fully internally-assessed (2012) suite option is available for Cambridge Technicals.
