Guidance on awarding spelling, punctuation and grammar for GCSE Geography
03 September 2024
We have updated the sample assessment material for GCSE Geography A J383 and GCSE Geography B J384 to include guidance on how we award spelling, punctuation and grammar (SPaG) for scribed scripts.
You can view the guidance titled, ‘Awarding Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar to scripts with a coversheet’, on the last page of the sample question paper for each component:
GCSE Geography A (Geographical Themes) J383
GCSE Geography B (Geography for Enquiring Minds) J384
You can also download the updated sample assessment material from the Assessment > Exams > Sample assessment materials section on Teach Cambridge.
We've provided this guidance to clarify how SPaG marks are awarded in this subject which will be reflected in the GCSE Geography A and B mark schemes for future series.
There are no changes to the specification or question papers for this subject.
