Reminder: New diverse text options for September 2022
30 June 2022
In September 2021, we announced improvements to the diversity of texts for our GCSE English Literature specification, for first teach September 2022, with first assessment in June 2024.
We want to remind you of the changes, which we've outlined below:
- We have replaced My Mother Said I Never Should with Winsome Pinnock’s play, Leave Taking, as a modern drama option for Section A of paper 1 (component 01).
- We have refreshed our poetry anthology, Towards A World Unknown, with 15 new poems, replacing five poems in each of the current three thematic clusters. You can order the revised poetry anthology from our website.
You can read more about these changes and the resources to support you with teaching these texts in our English blog and on our GCSE English Literature qualification page.
