We have updated the sample assessment material for GCSE Ancient History J198 (01/02) to include guidance on how we award spelling, punctuation and grammar (SPaG) for scribed scripts.

• J198/02 Rome and its neighbours

We've provided this guidance to clarify how SPaG marks are awarded in this subject which will be reflected in the GCSE Ancient History mark schemes for future series.

There are no changes to the specification or question papers for this subject.
