Clarification of controlled assessment guidelines for GCSE Computing (J275)

Centres must ensure they follow the supervision requirements during controlled assessment tasks for GCSE Computing, as outlined in the specification (available via the qualification page of the OCR website) and the JCQ Instructions for Conducting Controlled Assessment.

All work produced for submission by candidates when producing their final piece of work must be completed under formal supervision.

The level of supervision required when candidates produce their final piece of work is clearly stated in the section 4.2 of the specification (planning and managing controlled assessment). 

Guidance outlined in both the specification and the JCQ Instructions takes precedence over any other published materials.

The integrity of our qualifications is very important to us, and we are grateful to all centres for their continued diligence in ensuring controlled assessment tasks for Computing are undertaken in line with current specification and JCQ regulations.
