Following feedback from teachers, we have made minor amendments to the Data, Formulae and Relationships booklet and the specifications for AS and A Level Physics B (H157/H557), please see below.

Amended data, formulae and relationships booklet

We’ve made the following notation amendments to the Data, Formulae and Relationships booklet:

• On page 2, ‘Physical constants’, the charge on electron is now shown as:
  – e = –1.60 × 10^-19 C
• On page 4, ‘Imaging and signalling’, the reference of the last equation is now shown as:
  alternatives, N, provided by b bits

For the June 2024 series, centres will have received hard copies of the amended booklet as part of their non-confidential general stationery despatch.

Please make sure candidates are using clean copies of the amended booklet (OCR 2024 copyright version) for their exams. 

If you require additional copies of the Data, Formulae and Relationships booklet for the live examinations, you can download it from the Sample assessment materials section of the AS and A Level qualification pages on our website. The amended booklet is also available on Teach Cambridge. 

Amended specifications

We have updated the AS and A Level Physics B specifications to reflect the changes above, see section 5c Physics B data sheet.

We have also added the following new sub-sections to section 3 Assessment:

• 3c Total qualification time
• 3d Qualification availability outside of England
• 3e Language
