Minor amendments to AS and A Level Physics practical endorsement resources
03 June 2024
Following feedback from teachers, we’ve made some minor amendments to the practical endorsement resources for AS and A Level Physics A (H156/H556) and AS and A Level Physics B (H157/H557). We've made these changes to improve the accuracy and consistency of specification mapping.
You can view the amendments we've made below:
- Practical assessment group (PAG) teacher guides (February/April 2024): To improve accuracy and consistency with the PAG trackers and mapping guide, we’ve made minor changes to the specification mapping in the PAG teacher guides 1.2 (student/teacher sheet only), 2.1, 2.2, 3.2, 3.3, 5.1, 5.2, 5.4, 7.3, 8.3, 8.4 and 9.2.
- Physics practical endorsement skills tick table (10 April 2024): We’ve made minor changes to activities 2.2, 3.2, 6.3, 8.3, 9.2, 10.2 and 11.3 to ensure consistency with the PAG teacher guides
- Physics tracker portable (v1, 4 April 2024): On the ‘Introduction’ and ‘Practical Mapping’ tabs we’ve made minor changes to ensure consistency with the PAG teacher guides for activities 1.3, 3.3, 5.4, 6.2, 6.3, 8.3, 8.4 and 9.2
- Physics flex trackers (4 April 2024): Updated with minor changes to specification references on the PAGs 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 3.3, 5.1, 5.4, 7.3, 8.3, 8.4 and 9.2.
For the practical endorsement, accurate specification mapping depends on the students’ chosen activities, equipment and methods used, you should therefore make any necessary adjustments where required.
Before teaching a new cohort of students, please make sure you are using the latest versions of the practical endorsement resources.
