New resource booklets for AS and A Level Media Studies assessments
10 January 2024
As part of our ongoing commitment to improve accessibility in our assessment materials, we’re making some question paper changes for the following assessments:
- AS Level Media Studies – Media Today (H009/01)
- A Level Media Studies – Media Messages (H409/01)
For these assessments, sources will now be provided for students in separate ‘resource booklets’ available inside the question papers. This will allow students to view the questions and sources at the same time.
This change applies to assessments taking place from the June 2024 exam series onwards.
Although the question paper rubric for these assessments is a little different from previous years, the demand of the questions and the types of questions given is not changing.
New and amended sample assessment material (SAM)
To reflect this change, we've added new sample resource booklets and amended the sample question papers:
AS Level Media Studies H009/01 Media today
A Level Media Studies H409/01 Media messages
You can view and download this sample assessment material from:
- the Assessment > Sample assessment materials section of the A Level and AS Level Media Studies qualification pages on our website.
- the Assessment > Exams > Sample assessment materials sections on Teach Cambridge.
We will also be updating the Practice Papers on Teach Cambridge to reflect this change.
