Amended specifications for AS and A Level Biology A

Following the recent advances in genomics, including changes in the classification of the Clavibacter genus, we have reviewed our specifications for AS and A Level Biology A.
Having consulted with the British Society of Plant Pathology, we confirm the term ring rot should no longer be used in relation to tomatoes. The bacteria responsible for ring rot in potatoes causes bacterial canker in tomatoes.
We’ve therefore removed the reference to ring rot in tomatoes from our specifications as follows:

These amendments are immediate and apply for first assessment in June 2025.
