Update to text and task submission process
11 March 2024
As part of our environmental commitment to reducing our digital footprint and data storage, we are adopting a ‘tell us once’ approach for the submission of texts and task titles for OCR approval. This applies to the following non-exam assessment (NEA) components:
- A Level English Literature H472/03
- A Level English Language and Literature (EMC) H474/04
For component H472/03, the literature post-1900 text(s) and task(s) tool supports you in finding and proposing titles using our extensive database. For component H474/04, the text(s) and task(s) proposal form is for making sure the chosen text(s) and task(s) combinations are suitable.
If you are delivering either of these A Level English qualifications for the first time, you must use the relevant tool/form above to submit students’ text and task choices by 31 January in the year of assessment.
The new ‘tell us once’ approach means once you have submitted texts and tasks for approval, you will not need to re-submit in future years. Your centre's choices will be used for the lifetime of the specification or until you inform us of a change.
This new approach applies from first teach September 2024.
To reflect this change for centres, we’ve updated the following specifications and guidance on our website:
A Level English Literature H472
A Level English Language and Literature (EMC) H474
You can also view and download these resources from Teach Cambridge.
