A candidate’s final results will be recorded on an OCR certificate and sent to your centre according to the conditions of issue.
If you require certificates to be delivered to a different centre address (for example, due to a centre closure), please email your request on centre-headed paper to ocr.results@ocr.org.uk.
General qualifications (GCSEs, AS and A Levels, etc) and Cambridge National certificates are issued about eight weeks after results are issued:
Before certificates are issued, please check candidates’ details are correct. The certificate is not intended to be used as a final administrative check.
When certificates are issued, please check you have received certificates for all candidates on the certificate register.
If you’re planning to use certificates at award evenings then you can request early certificates – select the qualifications you require on the application form and submit it to us by 31 July. The earliest date you will receive your certificates by is 15 September.
If a candidate needs to send their results to an educational institution (usually overseas) as soon as results are released, they can apply for a provisional certifying statement of results. This service provides candidates with a proof of results without needing to wait for their final certificate. Candidates can apply online through our certificate replacement service.
If individual certificates are lost or damaged within the centre, we will issue free replacement certificates for a limited time (see above). Following this time, there will be a charge (see our fees list).
After a further period, we will no longer provide replacement certificates and, instead, will issue certifying statements of results. These are an official copy of the final examination results held by OCR and can be used as proof of qualifications gained.
If you are from a centre, send requests as follows:
If you are a candidate, please make a request through your centre or use the relevant application form available from the students area.
Certificates are issued in the name provided when the original entry was made.
Once certificates have been printed, we won’t change whole names but we can correct spelling mistakes or the wrong date of birth.
Please send requests and certificates to the Results Team, OCR, The Triangle Building, Shaftesbury Road, Cambridge CB2 8EA, together with a copy of appropriate documentation, e.g. birth certificate.
We recommend you return certificates using a trackable method of postage such as Recorded Signed For.
You can make amendments to candidates’ personal details until certificates are printed. In general, this is as follows:
Any requested changes after certificates have been printed will mean certificates have to be reissued and replacement certificate charges will be applied. See our fees list.
If you have a student who has sadly passed away, we are able to issue an honorary certificate. This is not an award of a real qualification but is an acknowledgement that a candidate who is not able to complete a qualification and who is not able to progress to the next stage in education is likely to have achieved a certain grade. This is different to a statement of recognition.
If you are aware of this situation before you have made entries, you do not need to make entries for the student. If you have made entries, you should withdraw them to avoid a situation where a real (and non-reflective) result is issued. If you think you have a candidate for whom a honorary certificate may be appropriate, please email the OCR special requirements team at srteam@ocr.org.uk with the following details:
