At the start of the course, you need to register your students for their Cambridge Technicals qualification by making a qualification entry.
When students are ready for assessment, you also need to make examined unit entries for the relevant series. This only applies to the 2016 suite.
You do not need to make entries for the moderated units – instead you make claims when the students are ready for a moderation visit.
This page provides a guide to Cambridge Technicals entries. You can also see our entries flow chart for a handy overview.
The entry codes booklet for Cambridge Technicals contains all the codes and rules of combination together with assessment availability for each series.
All our entry fees are provided in the fees list. Please check this document carefully to ensure you don’t incur late entry fees.
Invoices will be sent (normally via email) to your accounts contact once you have made your entries.
To query an invoice, please forward a copy of the invoice and supporting documentation to creditcontrol@ocr.org.uk, quoting your centre number and invoice number.
You register students for the subject and size of qualification they are taking, for example a ‘Certificate in Business or an ‘Extended Certificate in Sport and Physical Activity’.
This allows students to have one attempt at each examined unit (2016 suite only) and access to all of the moderated units.
There is no final deadline for registrations. However, you must register your students:
You can make your registrations via A2C using basedata, or via our secure website, Interchange. If you are making your entries via A2C, registration and unit entries are submitted in separate entry files. Registrations are made using 'annual' basedata which is separate to the exam unit basedata issued for each series.
We will release registration basedata each September. This will use the September series (09) and board identifier 72 (Cambridge OCR or RSA).
All registrations made during an academic year will use this 'annual' basedata.
You must make unit entries for the series the student will be taking the assessment. All examined units are available every January and June series.
All unit entries must be made by the relevant deadline for the series – see the key dates.
After the examined unit entries deadline, it is possible to make late entries for a charge (see the fees list).
When making your entries (and any resit entries), it’s essential you plan carefully, taking the entry rules into consideration. See our entry rules page for examined entry and qualification re-entry rules.
