OCR’s response to the second stage of the review of post-16 qualifications at Level 3 provided our views on the proposals set out by the Department for Education on 23 October 2020.

A quick summary of our response to this significant review can be found below. Our response highlights the strengths of applied general qualifications such as Cambridge Technicals including the flexibility of progression routes to further study or employment, and broadly welcomes the proposals in the recommendations that these should continue to be funded. We do challenge, however, some of the detail about the requirements that may be attached to that funding.
