Proposed list of qualifications for defunding: revised timeline
23 March 2020
The Department for Education process for defunding post-16 qualifications with low, publicly-funded enrolments has been suspended to autumn 2020.
The move to review these qualifications was the latest step in the government’s wider review of post-16 qualifications at Level 3.
Qualifications with less than 100 enrolments in each of the last three years which were included on the published list in scope for being defunded, will now retain funding approval for an extra year - 2021/2022.
