Proposals for final appeals avenue published for summer 2021
15 June 2021
Ofqual has issued a consultation on proposed changes to the way the Exam Procedure Review Service (EPRS) will operate for qualifications awarded in summer 2021.
EPRS is an Ofqual process that considers whether an Awarding Organisation followed the regulatory rules and its own process when it awarded a learner’s result and when it considered any review or appeal about that result. This Ofqual process is open to those who remain dissatisfied with the result of an appeal.
EPRS covers the the award of specified qualifications such as GCSEs, A/AS Levels, Advanced Extension Awards and the technical qualifications within T Levels.
The usual process for EPRS will not be relevant this year because of the cancellation of exams. The proposed changes in the consultation cover how EPRS will operate in summer 2021 and who may make an application.
The deadline for responses to the consultation is 28 June 2021.
