The number of entries for A Levels this autumn amounts to just 3% of the summer 2020 series. 20,100 entries have been made for the forthcoming A Level exam series in England across all four awarding organisations*.
The autumn series is part of the exceptional arrangements for awarding qualifications in 2020 put in place following the cancellation of the exams in the summer. This additional exam series will provide students who would like to improve their grade or who were unable to receive a grade in the summer, with the chance to take an exam.
The largest A Level entries for the autumn are in maths (4,190 entries) followed by the sciences: chemistry (3,300); biology (2,995); and physics (1,505).
There are 1,925 entries for AS Level subjects with maths and the sciences once again topping the list.
