Specification updates for Cambridge Advanced National in Applied Science

Following feedback from teachers, we have updated our specification and sample assessment material for Cambridge Advanced National in Applied Science (H051/H151). See below for details.
Updated specification
The amendments include the following:
- for Unit F180, section 5.2.1, the density units in the mass attenuation coefficient equation corrected from g m–3 to g cm–3
- confirmation the unit recording sheets (URS) and set assignment feedback forms are now only available on Teach Cambridge
- clarification that, on candidate results day, we publish the raw mark to UMS converter on our website for the relevant series
- updated guidance on:
- plagiarism, including the use of AI
- teaching requirements for referencing or acknowledging material copied from the internet or other sources
- teacher authentication for non-examined assessment (NEA).
We have listed all the amendments and corresponding section numbers at the front of the updated specification.
You can view and download the updated specification (version 7) from the Applied Science qualification page on our website and Teach Cambridge.
Please make sure you use the new version of the specification with your students from 1 June 2026.
Amended sample assessment material
To improve clarity, we've also amended the following sample assessment materials:
- Unit F182: removed the requirement for a Teacher Authentication form
- Teacher/technician advice moved to the Information and instructions for teachers section
