If you have students who have accented characters in their name and they would like these to appear on their results certificate, there are two options depending on whether your management information system (MIS) accepts accented characters or not.

If your centre’s management information system (MIS) supports accented characters, make an entry as normal via EDI. The accented characters will appear on the statement of entry, results reports and certificates. They will not appear on attendance registers.

Please be aware that, although you will be able to see the accented characters in the ‘View entries’ area of Interchange when you have made your entries via EDI, it is not possible to make entries with accented characters via Interchange.

If your centre’s MIS doesn’t support accented characters or you need to make an entry via Interchange:

1. Replace the accented characters with the non-accented equivalent character and then make your entry.
2. Email the candidate details to us at entries@ocr.org.uk.
3. We will acknowledge your request via email but will not process the change immediately so that any entry amendments for this candidate do not ‘overwrite’ your request.
4. We will process the change two weeks before certificates are issued.

The accented characters will not appear on the statement of entry, attendance registers and results reports but will appear on the certificate.
